1000 Cranes for One Wish
A message for those whose lives have been touched by ovarian cancer.
Are you, or someone you know, an ovarian cancer survivor? Have you lost a friend or loved one to ovarian cancer? We will be designing a table at this year's "A Teal Soiree" and we need your help.
Our design theme is "1000 Cranes for One Wish." According to Japanese lore, it is believed that if you fold 1000 cranes one wish will be granted. Our wish is to find a cure for ovarian cancer.
Please help us by folding a crane to add to our table design. Instructions, origami paper and a stamped envelope will be sent to anyone who is interested in participating. If you have lost a loved one to ovarian cancer, you may fold a crane in their honor and write their name on the crane's wing.
This is truly a labor of love, so let's work together to wish for a cure!
Please contact Phatsany at phatphatsany@yahoo.com for more information or to request a crane.

CSF Celebrates Ovarian Cancer Survivors
On June 23, 2010, Cheryl Shackelford Foundation hosted its second annual ovarian cancer survivors luncheon at the Wellshire Inn. It was a chance for survivors and care-givers to come together to share their cancer experiences and celebrate their triumphs.
The speakers at the luncheon included Dr. Mary Jo Schmitz, one of Denver's top gynecologic oncologists, who talked about the latest treatments and trends in ovarian cancer. Comedian and motivational speaker Marcia McGilley, who is also an ovarian cancer survivor, shared her personal cancer journey through laughter (and a few tears.)
From all of us at CSF, we would like to thank everyone who attended the luncheon and we look forward to seeing you next year!
